Alcohol and drug abuse has caused the death of rock stars too many to mention, but at 61, Ozzy Osbourne is going strong.
Now researchers in San Luis DNA say they are part of a team working to determine why decades of abuse of substances not taken by the Prince of Darkness.
Jon Armstrong is director of marketing for St. Louis-based Genomic cofactor. He said Wednesday that Osbourne has asked a Massachusetts company to map human genomic DNA. Cofactor has partnered in the effort.
Armstrong said that the allocation cannot provide definitive answers about the longevity of the long-term relationship Black Sabbath frontman. However, it might help to understand the relationship between DNA and the environment.
Osbourne did not return messages seeking comment left with his agent and the company of his wife’s management.
